Let's talk

(Why we're here) Our commitment to Bhutan

Doing our part.

Bhutan is stepping onto the world stage, and we believe in where it is going. We built Zampa here to invest in that journey: to bring Western technology and expertise to Bhutan, and to put them to work for its businesses, its institutions and its people, side by side with Bhutanese colleagues.

(01) A vision for a digital future

His Majesty's vision.

His Majesty The King has called on Bhutan to embrace technology, so that a small nation can achieve what larger ones cannot. We honour that vision, and His Majesty's leadership of this country. It is the reason we are here.

“Being a small nation makes us a smart nation, this is not out of choice but out of necessity. Technology is an indispensable tool that will be necessary to realise this aspiration.”

His Majesty The KingAddress to graduates of the Royal Institute of Management, August 2019

“These technologies excite me as they present opportunities for the future.”

His Majesty The KingAddress at the 14th Convocation of the Royal University of Bhutan, May 2019 (translated)

“…for what we lack in numbers we must make up in talent.”

(02) How we hope to help

Our part, in practice.

Bhutan's journey is Bhutan's own. We hope to do our part in a few practical ways, and to keep earning the trust it takes to do more.

  1. 01

    Bring proven technology here

3D scanning, secure document exchange, AI assistants and systems that work in the field: Western technology and expertise, put to work on problems in Bhutan instead of staying out of reach.

  2. 02

    Hire and grow Bhutanese talent

Our Bhutanese developers lead our web delivery and take on more design and building as the work grows. We hire here, we invest in the people we hire, and we hope to keep doing more of both.

  3. 03

    Share what we know

Skills should stay where they are needed. We train our Bhutanese colleagues and partners in what we do, so the knowledge grows here and keeps working long after a project ends.

    Thumbs up, all round.
  4. 04

Help Bhutan make more of what it needs

Every part we scan and rebuild here is one less to import, and every Bhutanese product we help bring to market is one more that Bhutan can sell to the world.

  5. 05

    Bring tech to remote places

Technology matters most where it is hardest to deliver, like a health camp for nomadic communities in the middle of Bumthang. We love building for those places.

(03) Friends first

Work hard, laugh often.

We work best as one team: colleagues from Germany, America and Bhutan, side by side. Some of our best ideas have started around a dinner table, and plenty of our best days have ended with a thumbs up.

Build it with us

Let's build the
bridge.

We're grateful to be here, and to play a small part in Bhutan's journey. If you have a problem worth solving, in Bhutan or for Bhutan, we'd love to hear it.
